You Don’t Have to Live With Tooth Loss

Although it is unfortunate and at times embarrassing, dealing with tooth loss can be inevitable. According to the Periodontic Association of America, over 175 million people-both kids and adults- have lost one or more teeth, with this number expected to continually increase over time. This, in turn, has made the need for improved dental implants more and more urgent. Dental implants are an ideal option to replace teeth with implants that look and function like natural teeth. The typical implant process is not always physically feasible or convenient which is why the All-on-4® technique may be a preferable option for many patients.

What is All-on-4®?

All-on-4® is a minimally invasive method of inserting a full mouth of prosthetic teeth that are supported by just four implants! You may have a full set of teeth with All-on-4® without having to go through many procedures and replacements to install a whole set of implants in your mouth. The best part about All-on-4® is that we are most often able to complete the procedure in one sitting under local anesthetic right at our office. This is an excellent option for those who have suffered through losing all of their teeth, or may need to have their remaining teeth removed due to decay. This allows our patients to achieve a beautiful full-set of teeth without the hassle of multiple procedures. This technology blesses patients with implants that look and function just like natural teeth.

Who Should Get All-on-4®?

Anyone who has suffered through tooth loss is an excellent candidate for All-on-4® . Rather than replacing teeth with detachable dentures, the All-on-4® implants allow people to go about their life and gain back their proper tooth functionality. Patients who currently have dentures or are considering dental implants are a good candidate for All-on-4® dental implants. They are also a great alternative for those who don’t have the proper bone density to support a full set of individual implants, are too busy for multiple procedures, or are struggling financially. The All-on-4® implant process is faster and cheaper than implant alternatives.

Why Do People Prefer All-on-4®?

All-on-4® implants are a better option than dentures for many reasons. For starters, the implants allow for patients to be able to brush them every day, the same way they would brush their natural teeth. Unlike with dentures, there is no need for patients to worry about what he or she eats because dental implants are so similar in function to natural teeth. Implants allow you to bite down with up to 70% more force than dentures. With dentures, you have to pay close attention to them being affected by extreme temperature. Finally, All-on-4® dental implants look and function extremely similarly to natural teeth. All-on-4® dental implants work to prevent bone degeneration in the jawbone, which in turn will restore your facial features back to natural. The dental implants will cause the jaw to alert the body that the jaw is able to support the teeth once again, which is called resorption. Resorption helps the jawbone in gaining back some of the shape it has lost, which is why many of our patients who visit our office notice a positive change in their facial shape.

The All-on-4® procedure has proven to be a huge success at our Westford office.

According to the Oral and Maxillofacial Associates, All-on-4® dental implants have a 98 percent success rate. This means that patients who choose All-on-4® dental implants have a 98 percent chance of leaving our office with an aesthetically pleasing set of teeth that are permanently connected to their jawbone.

The Process of Getting All-on-4® at Cornerstone Dental Group

On average, the procedure will take around two hours and 30 minutes per arch. All-on-4® dental implants can be placed in the upper, lower, or both arches simultaneously. While the skill and confidence of our dentists makes this operation appear simple, it is actually a complex procedure that we have the knowledge and ability to complete quickly. The procedure for receiving All-on-4® dental implants requires four simple steps:

  1. A comprehensive assessment where we look at your records, current circumstances, whether you have a denture, the needs of your face structure, and any other factors that may affect the placement of your dental implants.
  2. CT scans (3D images) of the jawbone are typically taken. The scans show the placement of the replacement teeth as well as the location of the bone sinuses and nerves for the implants.
  3. A computer simulation of the implants is developed, which is then digitally placed in the jawbone at the proper spot to give you maximum support from your replacement teeth. We will then make any required adjustments to the implants to create your new set of teeth that is tailored to your unique needs.
  4. Performing the oral surgery is the last and most important step. We will provide anaesthetic throughout the procedure to ensure comfort, and then place the dental implants straight into your jawbone to anchor your new set of teeth.
